18 months!

I know this entry is late, sorry followers!

Maddy turned 18 months in November. At her 18 month appointment, she weighed 25 pounds and was 2 feet, 10 inches tall. She is quite the babbler when she's in familiar company. Who knows what she actually says, but it sounds to me like Romulan with a lisp, and scattered words of English and Tagalog. The newest words in her vocabulary are "gatas" (Tagalog for milk) and "No" (American Toddler English for I'm-going-to-defy-you-from-this-day-forward). She runs just about everywhere, but is still working on how to jump. Her favorite TV personality is Elmo, much to Aaron's chagrin (he can only take so much of that voice).
She still does roll call in the morning, though she hasn't been saying her name lately, instead opting to simply point to herself. She is very much a mommy's girl, likely due to Aaron's deployment, but loves to play and read with Daddy. She's exploring that she can get away with some things with Mommy (mostly pushing limits) that she would never even attempt to try around Daddy. Let the Terrible Two's begin...ugh.
Seriously, though, this is a really fun stage that she's in now. Her personality is blossoming. She's becoming more aware of her influence on other's around her. She has a sense of humor, and a silly laugh to match it. She sounds like a baby monkey squealing at something funny. It's really quite entertaining to listen to. She is a very happy little girl, though you wouldn't know it from photos, since she puts on her "blue steel" face as soon as she sees a camera pointed at her face.
Madelyn borrowed this Radio Flyer trike from her cousin in Jacksonville. She swiftly learned how to move as fast as she can on it, and maneuvers it better than I think I could. She can get some serious speed and loves to zoom around the kitchen island! You even get to hear her silly little monkey laughter in this video :)
