Maddy gets into just enough mischief to keep us on our toes, but not so much that I have to clothe her in protective padding and a helmet. The other day, she was quietly playing on the floor while I put on my makeup in the bathroom. Did you catch that? I should have...no toddler quietly plays on their own! I look down, and this is what I see:
The little girl had snatched my eyeshadow off the counter to mimic me. What you don't see is the stuffed animal whose makeup she had also done behind my back. She also scratched out half of the color palette with her fingernails. She probably thought it was arts and crafts time again. I don't get worked up about these things, I'd rather her get into my makeup drawer than splash around in the toilet water!
On Sundays, church service ends at about 9:15am, but Maddy and I don't ever leave the parking lot until about 9:40am. That's because ever since she discovered she could run faster down a ramp than on flat ground, she has loved playing at the front entry of the chapel after everybody leaves. After about 20 laps around the ramp, she eventually goes acorn-hunting in the grass, which allows me to scoop her up and head to the car without much protest.

awwww!
ReplyDeleteA quiet child is a naughty child! ;) It carries on forever! When my 12 year old is quiet, I really have to wonder what's going on! She's getting so big and a little cutie patootie Amy!
