Thank you, 3AOB!

Today the 3AOB ward decided to throw a Sandwich Day in honor of the Myers family.  "Sandwich Day" is a 3AOB tradition started last year by our friend and co-worker, Stacey. Everybody brings in different sandwich ingredients as well as side dishes and we all dig in at lunch time, no matter how busy we may be on the floor. Since Stacey left, we haven't had as many Sandwich Days as we used to, but they still have a good turnout, with lots of food.

I was happy just to have one more Sandwich Day before Aaron and I leave. Little did I know that it was also secretly a last-minute baby shower for me! Here's what else was on the table along with the Sandwich Day goodies:
The "cake" is made of rolled up diapers, covered with blankets, onesies, binkies, bath toys, and teethers. The gift bag on the left has a boppy cover, knitted hat, musical toy, onesies, blankets, and a hooded bath towel.
Here's a close up of the frame with one of my ultrasound photos in it:And the biggest gift of all, a soothing rocker for the baby. The directions say that you can also detach the cradle and put a carseat in its place, too!
I'm so thankful to have a sendoff like this one. As hard as it was to be so far from home and family while over here, the friends we've made at work helped make it an easier tour. We're very thankful for our 3AOB family and their consideration in giving us these gifts!

  1. How fun!! What a great idea to have a "sandwich party." I should suggest that at work. We used to have "potluck Fridays," but it's been awhile.
