"This age"...can you believe she'll be 4 months old this week? Last week she weighed 14 pounds and outgrew her size small gDiapers. This weekend she outgrew her size 1 disposables. She's growing so much! And her head control is getting better, so we've been putting her in the bouncing playgym that our friends Erika and Kevin got for her. She doesn't yet have enough body girth to fill the revolving seat, so we have to bolster her up with a small pillow or cloth prefold diapers. And we have to put a textbook under her feet, which don't yet touch the ground when she's in it. The way she studies her toys is hilarious, I call it "tick-tock"(you'll see why below). It's best to watch with the volume turned off, so you can ignore me nagging Aaron about how he's holding and bouncing the camera. Just watch her adorable little head and face as she studies her toys:

The tick-tock thinker
Maddie has been such a character lately! She's talking so much more, though she tends to stop talking as soon as she sees a camera in her face. She especially enjoys talking to herself at about 4am for about an hour or so before going back to sleep. It's her early morning report. Maybe she's telling us the weather forecast in baby babble...who knows? The BabyWise book says that it's typical behavior for babes this age, and not to misinterpret it for the baby being ready to wake up to start her day, since they usually go back to sleep.
