After orientation yesterday, I scooted off to my 32 week prenatal appointment. It went really well, she was moving the entire time. Her heart rate was in the 150's this time, since I was a little warm from yesterday's heat, plus all her activity. I'm staying hydrated, though. I'm only up 23 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight, which is right on track. My fundal height, however, was measuring out to 34 cm (instead of the expected 32 cm). My doctor palpated her approximate size, and said that she feels appropriate for a 32-weeker, though. My next appointment is in two weeks, and he said that if I'm still measuring big at that visit, then we'll do an ultrasound. I'm not worried about it at this point. I'm not diabetic, and I'm not stuffing my face with Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I joked later with Aaron that maybe I'm just full of poo and it's displacing my uterus upwards. Ha!
After our appointment, we had dinner and then went to the Navy base for an evening "Budget for Baby" class. Although it had a lot of information about things that we don't qualify for, like WIC and food stamps, it still helped us work out our projected expenses. We also learned about local resources for new parents and got a free layette set. I had hoped that they would give pink layette items, but they were all yellow. They did give out blankets that were hand-knitted by volunteers, so I got to choose pink for those.
Since the class was in the evening and we didn't get home until around 8:30pm, we missed our beloved American Idol. I need to figure out how to DVR. I'll probably just get it on iTunes later today so we can watch it before the results show tonight. Aaron keeps joking that this may be the last season of Idol that we'll be able to follow religiously, since we'll be juggling a tot next season. I'd like to think that Idol isn't one of those "luxuries" that will have to got to the wayside with parenthood. Besides, I'll have mastered DVR by then!
Thanks for checking in. Cross your fingers that my measurements even out!
I so wish that I could rub your buddha and feel that little missy kicking. Tell Aaron to give it a good rub for me, and kiss her a couple times, too. Glad you are doing well and staying healthy throughout your pregnancy. I can't believe it's getting so close. WOW!! I'm just so excited for you. My fingers (and toes) are crossed. I love you.
