Another iPhone App Review

Okay, so I spent a whole paragraph in my labor & delivery story devoted to the Contraction Master application for the iPhone. For those of you without an iPhone, you can just go to their website and time contractions on the site. This is what it looked like on my phone:
Anyhow, now that Madelyn is here, I found another iPhone app that has been indispensable as a new parent: Baby Time. I have seen products like this before, there is something called the "Itzbeen" timer, a portable unit that has five concurrent timers for diaper changes, feeds, medicines, naptimes, and miscellaneous. There's even a Left-Right switch to remind you which side you nursed from last. Here's a photo of the Itzbeen timer:
Notice the price tag underneath the product, $24.99. I didn't think that it was worth that much. I'd rather use a pen and paper to track my times than spend that much on an Itzbeen. But I really liked the idea.
Enter Baby Time (by dadoo, you can see tutorials on dadooiphone.com)...a $3.99 app that offers even more than the Itzbeen. The timer interface is similar to the Itzbeen, you just touch the screen to activate or reset the timers:
But there's even more to the app. You can scroll to up to three different timers for multiple children or triplets, with a different color code for each child (blue, green, yellow). You can also document feed times/durations, nap length, diapers & diaper quality, as well as make comments about other care you did during that time:
At the end of the month, you can email all that documented data to yourself to backup the information.
Also (and I don't use this feature much unless I'm bored while she's feeding) there is a week-by-week infant development feature that gives updates about what milestones baby may be reaching that week. The blurbs are very short and not all-encompassing, so I don't really read much of it.
Cool, huh? Now, I'm not saying the iPhone was cheap, but the app is a great reminder of why I love having an iPhone!

  1. This is very cool but not helpful for me in my quest to justify an iphone or itouch in the near future. Do they have any scrapping apps?
    love you!
