Her 6-month appointment was today, she weighed 15 pounds, 6 ounces. She is approximately 2 feet tall.
She got more shots, and did well, considering that it was waaaay past her morning naptime (our appointment was delayed almost an hour!). She didn't get the H1N1 vaccine, as that would have meant 5 needles total. Which reminds me, I need to make sure to redose her with tylenol when she gets up from her nap.
We reached a couple new milestones this week. First, she has started eating pureed food. I started her on avocado for a few days, then introduced her to sweet potato a couple days ago. She seems to like the sweet potato best. I was going to try to stop her from grabbing the spoon to avoid a lot of mess, but why deter her from it if I expect her to use one later in life? She's actually pretty adept at bringing the spoon to her mouth without shoving it up her nose.
Second milestone is a little scary for Mommy and Daddy...she's begun "posting" up on all fours/hands-and-knees in the crawling position! She doesn't go anywhere, just rocks back and forth like that for a few seconds, then slides back onto her tummy. I can't move fast enough to capture it on video when she does it. It's cute. But I think it's time to lower the crib height down a notch or two now that she can raise up like that. Next milestone along with crawling is pulling up onto furniture! Yikes! She's going to be mobile!
Batten down the hatches! Erik is a big proponent of childproofing WAAAAY before necessary! Sounds like she is well on her way. What a doll.
