22 weeks!

Exciting news...Aaron got to feel her move last night! I had my hand on my tummy after dinner and could feel her doing her calisthenics, so I placed his hand there, and pow! Not a huge kick by 3rd trimester standards, but as a 2nd trimestee, her kicks (from the outside) feel like a bubble popping beneath the surface of my skin.

Have I mentioned yet how much we are enjoying our new home? Sure, there are a couple minor things here and there that need fixing/tweaking/painting, but otherwise, the location cannot be beat as far as convenience. We're close to the airport, mall, and the hospital that I plan on working at.

Here's the 22 week update:

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.
