26 weeks!

Sorry for the lull in entries over the last week. I should be taking more photos of myself, now that baby and I are growing more. Here's my expanding belly as of first thing this morning:
As you can see, my belly button has still not "popped"...but it's threatening to! Her kicks are getting stronger and more visible, too. Aaron had his hand on my tummy last night while I slept, and said that whenever she would kick, I'd jump a little in my sleep, but not wake up. That's not the only thing that has developed...Aaron says that I now SNORE! Yeesh. Thankfully, he thinks it's cute!
Here's her developmental update for the week:The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.
I've also begun taking DHA supplements for her brain and eye development. I'm starting this supplement a little later in gestation than what is recommended by some, but other sources say that third trimester supplementation is optimal, too, since that's when fetal absorption is highest. Better late than never!
Aaron has been painting the nursery this weekend, I'll post photos as it progresses :)
