Okay, so now that Sausage Fest is out of the way, I can get back to an actual pregnancy/baby post. Dang, that was fun, though!
Here's the belly:

I don't think I've thanked my sister-in-law Keri or my good friend Brenda enough for bestowing maternity clothes upon me. This shirt is Keri's, and it looks super-cute on her, so she'll definitely get it back whenever her next bambino comes, along with everything else! I wore it to a job interview today. A job interview that I think I rocked, BTW.
Here's the fetal development update for this week:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
I know a lot of you are waiting to see the nursery color, but it's really hard to capture the color changes on camera. Plus, we got the nursery furniture from Grandpa Myers in the other day and need to put that together to put in the nursery. And Lola Estrada sent us the gorgeous sheets that go in that crib set, so I want to put that in the nursery, too. I'll get photos posted when those are in the nursery, so you can better see how they play off the wall color. So exciting!
Lola also sent us baby's Pack N Play, which will be at our bedside for the first few weeks before she starts sleeping in her crib. It's such a pretty print, but it's also fairly gender-neutral. I haven't taken it out of the box yet, but here's a stock photo of it and the fabric swatch:
I love it! Part of me feels a little weird putting furniture together already...y'know..."just in case". I'm trying not to think so doomsday, worst-case-scenario, but that's part of what I do. Worry!
Thanks for checking in. Yikes...Now we're moving into the third trimester, time's flying!

It's so fun to see your belly. I cannot believe you are already headed into the 3rd trimester. WOW!! The nursery color turned out great. LOVE the pack-n-play/bassinet type of thing. She's going to look so peaceful and tiny in that thing. Your belly is just as cute as ever. Thanks for sharing, babe!! I love you and miss you. Hugs, MJ
