28 weeks!

Sorry for not posting this earlier in the week! I took the photos of myself on Sunday, but then wanted to wait until I got the nursery more decorated before posting photos of it. Well, I never got around to getting the nursery fully decorated. But as promised, I included some photos of it as it is now. Please excuse the very bare walls. I do have plans for them.

Here I am: big, round, and pound-for-pound... Our fetal development update:By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Here's what the nursery looks like from the doorway:That's the changing table on the right and the crib on the left.

Here's the crib wall. I plan on putting wall decals on this wall, I just have to bust out the Cricut and vinyl to cut the shapes.
And the changing table. The rocking chair was made by Aaron's great grandfather. How awesome is that? And I already have my hooter hider hanging on it, poised and ready! I have the hanging wall organizer that matches the fabric in the crib bedding, which I plan on hanging above the changing table.
Here's the closet wall. The tall cabinet may or may not stay in the nursery, but it was a leftover Ikea cabinet that we forgot we had in storage from three years ago. If it stays, we'll paint it and attach furniture straps to the walls so she doesn't topple it over trying to stand up with it.
These are *most* of the clothes that my mother has sent for kiddo. There is also a drawer full of clothes in the Ikea cabinet as well as a hamper full sitting next to the crib. I simply ran out of hangers! The the bathroom-organizer-turned-shoe-organizer was my sister-in-law Keri's idea, which is brilliant!
Remember the diaper cake that we got at the shower thrown by the kind folks from 3AOB? I finally got all of them unrolled, and they filled up two drawers! They're all size 1 and 2.
And I have to throw in this photo, even though it has nothing to do with the nursery. Well, sort of...the reason I didn't get around to hanging decorations in the nursery was because I immersed myself in arranging this wall gallery in the front hallway to showcase a bunch of my washi paper from Japan. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out! I used the "Create Your Own Gallery" frames from Michael's, but didn't use their templates. If you use these frames, here's a tip: do NOT use the mounting hardware they provide with the frames. They don't hang very even and leave enormous holes in your walls. After frustratingly hanging two frames with their hardware, we ended up attaching sawtooth picture hangers to the remaining frames and regained our sanity.

Whew! Lots of photos in this post, as promised! On top of finishing the nursery wall decor, I still have to find the perfect area rug to put in there. I found a couple contenders online, but I'll have to check local stores to see if they have anything, too. Thanks for looking!
