Hooray for 25 weeks! I didn't post yesterday because I was busy cleaning up the last of the junk off the floor in this room and putting it all in my lovely new cabinet pictured behind me! Then, we went to a Hail and Farewell/Super Bowl Party at the CO's house. We didn't stay for the game, we wanted to watch it here at home on our new big screen. I have to say, that for a gal who isn't that big of a sports fan, I was really excited throughout the whole game. Good show. Anyway, here I am:
For those of you who noticed, yes, I have a picture of Aaron's face on the front of one of the cabinet's drawers. That was a photo that travelled with us from Naval Hospital Yokosuka, it had been on the wall there for a while and somehow made it into my scrapbook piles. Of course. So, our 25-weeker now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
I was just telling my brother today that in Japan, pregnant women eat a lot of seaweed during their pregnancy, since their old wives tales say it will give your baby a full head of hair at birth. I don't think any of them have been disappointed when they have a bald baby, but I did see a lot of half-Japanese babies with full heads of hair!
All right, time for me and the little kicker to head to the grocery store. I might go check out a bubble tea place down the road before shopping...I hear that my mom is hooked on those. Gotta scout out the best place for them before she gets here!
